The polish studies in the field of chemistry have been widely recognized in the world. The best research centers (universities, institutes of Polish Academy of Sciences, and research institutes) in the country conducting studies in this area are located in Mazovia.

Faculty of Chemistry (Warsaw University of Technology), Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering (Warsaw University of Technology), Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering (Warsaw University of Technology), Faculty of Chemistry (University of Warsaw), Department of Chemistry and New Technologies (Military University of Technology), Institute of Physical Chemistry (Polish Academy of Sciences), Institute of Organic Chemistry (Polish Academy of Sciences), Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology, Industrial Chemistry Research Institute, Institute of Industrial Organic Chemistry, and Pharmaceutical Research Institute took the initiative to create a research structure called Mazovian Valley of Green Chemistry. It will allow to consolidate operations and link structure of research units located in the Central Vistula Valley. This will create added value for the development of didactics, science and innovation activities for industry.

Mazovian Green Chemistry Volley, because of the high level of academic staff and engineering experience of its institutional participants, will be a European-class infrastructure for research in chemistry, with open access to national and European cooperation.

On 27 February, the Marshal of the Mazovian Voivodeship – Mr Adam Struzik received the delegation representing the participants of the agreement consisting of: Prof. J. Szawłowski (Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology) and Prof. E. Molga (Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology) – epresenting universities, Prof. R. Hołyst (Institute of Physical Chemistry) – representing institutes of Polish Academy of Sciences, and Prof. A. G. Chmielewski (Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology) – representing research institutes. The presented project has met with great interest of the Marshal, because it is fully compatible with the development strategy being prepared for Mazovian Voivodeship. On the meeting have been agreed directions for further action in the creation and strengthening of this structure, which is a technology incubator, with the already existing infrastructure, which is a unique feature of the resulting solution, giving an advantage over technology parks, which are created from scratch.
