The Core Committee Meeting for ENS-YGN in INCT


On 11th February 2012 in the seminar room of the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology in Warsaw took place the meeting of the representatives of national associations of European Young Generation (part of European Nuclear Society - Young Generation Network ENS-YGN). The meeting was organized by M.Sc. Eng. Brykala Marcin (President of the Polish Young Generation part of the Polish Nuclear Society), M.Sc. Eng. Tomasz Smolinski (vice president of PYG), and PhD. Eng. Kinga Frackiewicz (former president of PYG).

Behalf of INCT, Prof. Andrzej G. Chmielewski, Ph.D., D.Sc. the Director of the Institute officially welcomed participants. Behalf of the Polish Nuclear Society (PNS) Secretary General PhD. Eng. Wojciech Głuszewski welcomed participants. The meeting was graced by presence of the President of European Nuclear Society - Dr. Marco Streit.

During the meeting besides to organizational issues of ENS-YGN, there were also presentations of different activities of YG members from 13 European countries. They submitted the reports about their activities and promotion scientific knowledge in 2011. The presentation about Polish Young Generation activities was presented by M.Sc. Eng. Brykala Marcin.

On 10th February held technical visits in Maria Research Reactor in Swierk (POLATOM NCBJ), which began program of the meeting. The meeting was ended by visit to the Museum of Marie Sklodowska-Curie and in the Royal Castle in Warsaw, organized by PhD. Eng. Wojciech Głuszewski - Secretary General of the PNS.

Directly after the Core Commite Meeting there was PIME 2012 Conference which was organized in Warsaw by European Nuclear Society (13th – 15th February 2012). Polish Young Generation was one of co-organizers of the first workshop: "Preparing for nuclear new build: get on the bus!". During the conference, MSc. Eng. Tomasz Smolinski presented "Energy situation in Poland, the public acceptance." PNS has organized an exhibition about the life and work the Nobel Prize winner Marie Curie.
