Three years of the RADOV project behind us

It's been three years since the RADOV project began. The 36M RADOV Annual Meeting, held on September 19, 2025, in Palermo, provided an excellent opportunity to summarize the RADOV achievements during this period and discuss the obstacles encountered in the scaling-up process. The event brought together 23 participants, both on-site at the Department of Engineering at the University of Palermo and remotely. The presented results highlighted the development of irradiation conditions that induce bioactive properties in the treated materials. Selected materials with the most promising bioactive properties are currently being integrated into two prototypes: a hydrogel wound dressing and packaging foil. The technologies for producing these final materials are progressing well. Additionally, presentations were made regarding the optimization and implementation of the scaling-up process for some products. The meeting concluded with a fruitful discussion about the next steps for the project and proposed strategies to address the obstacles in the scaling-up procedures. The Steering Committee Meeting officially closed the event.
