The visit of students from the Automotive Schools and High Schools Complex No. 3 named after I. J. Paderewski in Warsaw

The Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology the Youth Forum members organized shows and contents related with radioactivity on 10 May 2011 at. The meeting was organized for students from the Automotive Schools and High Schools Complex No. 3 named after I. J. Paderewski in Warsaw on request of the school chemistry teacher. First, the students visited the sterilization station where they learned how to use radiation for medical equipment sterilization and food hygienization. The later shows included problems related with natural radioactivity measurement, penetrating radiation and penetrating radiation protection. The dosimetry equipment available in the INCT was also presented. During competition students could verify their knowledge of chemistry, physics and nuclear power engineering as well as knowledge about life and scientific activities of Maria Skłodowska-Curie.
