The activities of the Pilot Plant for Food Irradiation comprise:

1. Development of new technologies for irradiation of food and agricultural products,
2. Development of radiation technologies for hygenization of raw materials of natural origin for pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries,
3. Microbiological analysis agricultural raw materials,
4. Microbiological decontamination of food and agricultural products,
5. Marketing of irradiated products, transfer of information on irradiated products to the public and consumers' tests.

Research activities

The major area of Pilot Plant activity is the research work on the radiation degradation and structure modification of natural polymers.
