PHOTOSTIMULATED LUMINESCENCE, FAST METHOD OF DETECTION OF IRRADIATED FOODSTUFFS

Grzegorz Piotr Guzik, Wac³aw Stachowicz

The principle of pulsed photostimulated luminescence (PPSL) method, description of instrumentation and methodology of measurements are presented. The pathway of operational pro-cedure and testing of the PPSL instrument in the Laboratory for Detection of Irradiated Food of the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology are described.
Attention has been paid to the positives of the new method while some limitation of its application have been also discussed.
