General information

The main goal of activity of the laboratory is application of stable isotope mass spectrometry for environmental investigation and food authenticity control. The laboratory is dedicated to the stable isotope analysis (carbon-13, oxygen-18, deuterium, nitrogen-15 and sulfur-34). The recently laboratory implemented the technique of gas chromatographic (GC and GC-MS) for identification composition of complex organic compounds. The laboratory takes part in the interlaboratory proficiency test .

Specific activities

  • Determination of carbon and nitrogen isotopic composition as regional factor in food origin investigation;

  • Influence of main pollutant emitters on concentration and isotopic composition nitrates in ground water;

  • Stable isotope applications to quality and origin control of milk and milk products;

  • Determination of stable isotope of sulphur in coal and coal combustion products;

  • Investigation of food authenticity for wine, juices and honey;
