CYTOGENETIC EFFECTS OF LOW DOSE RADIATION IN CHINESE HAMSTER CELLS

The induction of cytogenetic damage after irradiation with low doses of g-rays (0.1-2 Gy) has been studied. A non-linear curve is shown for the induction of chromosome abberrations, detected by anaphase method. It is possible that these results could reflect an induced radioresistance at low dose irradiation. The obtained data were analyzed from the point of view of the model of two protective mechanisms.
