A methodology is developed for the assessment of the reliability and availability of all emergency AC power system configurations of nuclear power plants, using the Markov approach, and taking into account common-cause failures, human errors and the hardware failures as well.
The exact mathematical form of this approach has been presented. Because of complexity and size of the systems of practical importance, a computer aid was needed. The computer program RADGP-01 has been written to perform the calculations necessary for the implementation of the developed model. The RADGP-01 program has been written on the assumption that the time step of the process is sufficiently small and that only one-component-transition is possible at the end of each time step.
