ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY AND POSITRON LIFETIME STUDIES OF THE Cu-Mn SYSTEM

The influence of thermomechanical treatment on the microstructure and annealing behaviour of the Cu5Mn and Cu3Mn alloys was investigated by electrical resistivity measurements and completed with positron lifetime studies. The annealing response of the resistivity revealed the establishment of atomic short range order (SRO). Deformation-induced crystal lattice defects were studied by positron lifetime measurements. The results of both experimental techniques are compared and discussed.
