The fission fragments from a 252Cf source were measured by means by means of E-DE telescopes consisting of very thin ion implanted epitaxial transmission detectors of a thickness of 1.3, 2.5, 3.2 and 4.8 µm.
Each transmission detector was followed by a E detector 400 µm thick. The results of measurements in the form of two-dimensional E-DE contour plots are presented.
It was experimentally found that the energy loss of the fission fragments was nearly independent of the mass and charge for the measured fission fragments in each of the tested transmission detectors.
