ON THE METHOD OF MOMENTS IN AEROSOL DYNAMICS

Applications of the method of moments to an aerosol dynamics equation are presented. General differential equations for parameters of log-normal and gamma distributions are derived from an aerosol dynamics equation. Exact values of moments for three benchmark problems are presented. Equations based on the method of moments for these benchmark problems are derived and solved analytically. Obtained values of moments are equal to exact ones in two cases and approximate them very well in a third case.
