A COMPUTERIZED TRACK DETECTOR READER

The structure and basic operation function of a computerized facility named - Track Detector Reader is described. This facility is used for recording, counting and evaluation of defects made by a-particles in a solid state detector. It consists of a microscope equipped with the movable stage, a TV screen and a PC-AT computer. The microscope stage is being controlled by a stepper motor. The TV screen enables surface visualization of the detector analyzed while the PC-AT computer is being used for digital analysis of the detector surface, according to the set functions of the program.
