A method was developed for determination of 241Am in urine samples. Oxalate co-precipitation and anion exchange techniques were used to separate americium and plutonium. Plutonium can be simultaneously determined in the sample. The electrodeposited americium was measured by an alpha-system. The obtained chemical yield of 241Am was (77 ± 3)%, and the lower limit of detection (LLD) = 0.5 mBq.
