Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology organizes Proficiency Tests: PLANTS in co-operation with RefMat Society and LGC Promochem.
The main goal of the participation in the PT PLANTS is to demonstrate the laboratories' performance of the determination of Pb, Cd, As, Hg and Zn content in food products of plant origin.
The project was initiated in 2003. In the year 2004 two Proficiency Tests were expected: 

• PLANTS 2: Determination of As, Cd, Hg, Pb and Zn content in carrot root powder, completed
• PLANT 3: Determination of As, Cd, Hg, Pb and Zn content in parsnip root powder, completed
• PLANT 5: Determination of As, Cd, Cu, Hg, Pb, and Zn content in carrot root powder, under way
