Mining radiometer RGR-40

The mining radiometer is designed for rapid measurements of radon decay products concentration in mines, where the hazard of Rn-222 emanation and high concentration of radon daughters is particularly high. Measurement of radioactive radon decay products of Rn-222 enables quick assessment of effectively of mine ventilation system and health hazard to the miners. The radiometer is adapted for operation in heavy environment of coal, metal ores and chemical raw materials mines which are classified as first category of methane hazard. The radiometer obtained the certificate of Higher Burreau of Mining of Poland with the signature Gx-195/95.
The radiometer measures alpha potential energy concentration of radon daughters and concantration of RaA (Po-218), RaB (Pb-214), and RaC (RaC') (Bi-214). The measuring results are displayed in µJ/m3 for alpha potential energy concentration and in Bq/m3 for decay products concentration, and are stored in operational memory of a microprocessor system. The results can also be transmitted to PC or a printer by RS232C serial port.
