Activities

1. Initial DNA damage and its repair (base damage repair, double strand break repair by non-homologous end-joining and homologous recombination)

2. Connections between DNA repair abilities and cellular sensitivity in mammalian cells (including radiation sensitive variants)

3. Use of alkaline and neutral comet assay in screening of human populations at risk and in basic research

4. Pre-requirements for cellular sensitivity to oxidants, with emphasis on hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide, relation to cellular iron status and iron metabolism control

5. Studies on DNA damage and cellular sensitivity of cancer cells exposed to novel platinum and palladium anticancer complexes
