General activities

The research activities of Laboratory of Nuclear Technologies in Environmental Protection concern the concepts and methods of Nuclear and Process Engineering application to the environmental area. In particular we participate in the research on the application of electron accelerator in such environmental technologies as flue gas and water treatment, wastewater purification, processing of different industrial waste etc. Also renewable energy production technologies are of interest of our group.

The main aims of the activity:

Development of new processes and technologies of environmental engineering,
Application of the methods and unit operations of process engineering for nuclear industry,
Promotion of nuclear methods in the field of environmental applications,

Specific activities

The activities of our group are both basic and applicable research:

Development of Electron Beam Flue Gas Treatment (EBFGT) technology,
Investigation of chemical reaction mechanisms and kinetics in gas phase irradiated by e-beam,
Study on the mechanism of removal of volatile organic compounds (VOC) from flue gas by electron beam excitation,
Study on the catalytic thermal conversion of polyolefine and polyethylene wastes into liquid fuel,
Process modelling.
