DESCRIPTION (field, expectations, comments):
The INCT is Poland's most advanced institution in the fields of radiochemistry, radiation
chemistry, radiobiology, nuc1ear chemical engineering and technology, application of
nuc1ear methods in material engineering and radioanalytical methods.
The post-doc position at the INCT is open in the framework of RER1019 project
"Enhancing standardized radiation technologies and quality control procedures for human
health, safety, c1eaner environment and advanced materials".
The aim of this project is to develop a radiation synthesis of materials based on polymers
and additional components increasing their antibacterial activity. The optimal composition
of the materials will be established and the radiation dose ensuring desired properties of
the material will be selected. The physicochemical characterization of the obtained
materials will be correlated with antibacterial activity in order to optimize the synthesis
method.
Profile of candidates/requirements:
• Ph.D.
• Experience in synthesis and modification of polymeric nanomaterials with application
of ionizing radiation
• Expertise in experimental techniques: ego FTIR, XRD spectroscopies, TGA, DSC,
DT A , SEM, AFM methods
• Knowledge in the use of radiation techniques
• Very good knowledge of English (oral and written)
